My Therapy Story By Rosamond Peery

I enjoy therapy at St. William’s, with the one and togetherness.

Explained all exercises and activities. Did some things before – picking up things floor, get myself up from floor. Felt better after exercises.

Would recommend it to anyone.

FALLS PREVENTION AWARENESS WEEK September 20—24th, 2021

Falls are the main reason older people lose their independence.

Are you at risk?

Four things you can do to prevent falls:

  1. Begin an exercise program to improve your leg strength and balance.
  2. Ask your doctor or pharmacist to review your medications.
  3. Get annual eye check-ups and update your eyeglasses.
  4. Make your home safer by:
    1. Remove clutter & trip hazards
    1. Put railings on all stairs and add grab bars in the bathroom
    1. Have good lighting, especially on stairs.

Contact your local Big Stone Therapists at St. William’s Living Center Outpatient Therapy Clinic by calling 218-338-1014 for information on exercise, fall prevention programs, and options for improving home safety.

St. William’s Living Center Visitation Update September 3, 2021

Dear St. William’s Living Center Residents, Friends, and Families:

We will reopen for visitation tomorrow, Saturday, September 4th.  Due to an employee recently testing positive for COVID we completed two rounds of outbreak testing of employees and residents.  We are happy to report that there were no additional positive cases found during outbreak testing.

Appointments for visits are not required and visitors may self-screen

We are no longer requiring appointments for visits.  Visitors will be required to self-screen prior to entering.  Nursing Home visitors may enter door A on Jackson Street and McCornell Court visitors may enter Door E on McCornell Avenue seven days a week between the hours of 8:00am to 8:00pm.

Masks Required During Visits

Although the state of MN has lifted the mask mandates, masks are still required to be worn at all times while visiting residents at St. William’s Living Center.  Visits must take place in resident rooms.  Additional guidance is posted at the screening station near the entrances.

Questions, Concerns, or Complaints

Should you have any questions, concerns, or complaints, please do not hesitate to contact me at 218-338-1001 or Lori Roers, Director of Nursing at 218-338-1009.  We realize that this pandemic has been hard on residents and their families and I want to make sure that we are appropriately addressing any concerns that you have.
